What is the MV&D?

The MV&D, The Muslim Volunteers and Du’at fellowship, is an appreciation for the hard work put in by the many thousands of volunteers in the United Kingdom and globally who have supported the Ummah and preserved what they were able to. We ask Allah to put success in this effort as we strive to bring together volunteers and let them know they are needed, appreciated and very much loved, especially by those who are unable to serve the Deen as much as they would like and to the extent that those who volunteer have always done. Ameen.

This is a fellowship for anyone who has ever been a part of an Islamic project, cause or organization, or even wanted to get involved but didn’t know where to begin. This fellowship is for those who have helped the Da’wah move forward in the UK. From the Du’at who delivers the speeches, to the volunteer who stands at the door, or even the one sweeping and cleaning at our functions and facilities, this fellowship is for everyone and anyone who has worked for the establishment and progress of the Da’wah.

What if you have never volunteered?

Even if you have never helped but have always made the intention to, this is your calling. The MV&D fellowship aims to bring together volunteers and Du’at to not only establish a sense of brother/sisterhood but also to make sure that those who work in the cause of Allah are taken care of and receive all the benefits they deserve for their integral role in the Da'wah movement.

All members of the MV&D will be offered great training seminars taught by prominent Du’at as well as tailored workshops designed to help them get the most out of being a volunteer and gain maximum rewards for the akhirah. Our volunteers will have the ability to put into practice these great skills with a wide range of amazing projects that the MV&D has teamed up with. We believe strongly that with knowledge comes responsibilities and implementation.

Your future:

The MV&D holds the belief that being a volunteer is not only about giving, giving, giving! There are plenty of ways you can gain in this life and in the akhirah by volunteering, and being an MV&D member can offer you the opportunities for just that.

The MV&D aims to offer all members exclusive gift prizes, opportunities and outings along with discount vouchers to fashionable and modern Islamic businesses. The MV&D will also offer camping trips, paint-balling and go-carting events, exclusive discounts and scholarships to Islamic courses.  MV&D is also working to provide members opportunities in the future to pursue graduate studies in Islamic sciences from prominent affiliate Islamic universities.

Joining the MV&D:

Becoming a member is simple and easy.  It's about giving your time as a volunteer or as a da’ee in order to help others in need as well as help offer events and services needed by our beloved Ummah.  In return, you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent in the cause of Allah, thus benefiting your akhirah in ways immeasurable except by Allah. In addition, being an MV&D member can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and gain useful experience.  It should also be lots of fun and very fulfilling insha’Allah!

The variety of opportunities is vast.  Whatever skills and experience you have there is something that you can do to benefit yourself and others. The best way to see what is available is to browse on our projects page to get an idea. You can also go onto our forums and start a project or an idea of your own! You will find support, advice and fellowship readily available to make your own dreams and hopes a reality by Allah’s will, insha'Allah!

Challenges:

The biggest challenge for many people is finding the time to volunteer. It can reduce your choices if you don't have much time to spare, but many busy people do find suitable projects which may require only a small amount of time or effort. This membership is not limited to those who jump in full-time or even those who give it part of their day but it's also for those who only wish to spare a few hours or even minutes. The MV&D believes in quality and not quantity by way of sincerity and effort put forth with utmost devotion and abilities.  This can only be possible if one offers true dedication and sincerity towards creating a balance in life and making time for good deeds for the sake of Allah. Remember the Prophet (peace be upon him) had the same amount of hours in the day as we do and he was sent to teach the whole of mankind, lead an army in battles, look after his family and fulfill his own personal obligations!  Becoming a part of the MV&D is easy.  All we need is lots of enthusiasm, dedication and hard work for a fulfilling and successful outcome.

Benefits:

The benefits are endless and as you grow in the fellowship so will your skills, your network of friends, your abilities, your sense of achievement, your Islamic knowledge (through our workshops/courses at Islamic institutes, etc.) and more importantly your ranks in the akhirah insha’Allah.

We will also look out for your rights, making sure your needs as a Muslim and a volunteer for whichever project you volunteer for are being taken care of.  From ensuring adequate lunch breaks for volunteers to making sure that free mixing is not a worry for those who protect themselves.  The MV&D will have a list of rules that organizers and their organizations will need to agree to and adhere to when they are benefiting from MV&D members. This will ensure that your experience with their project is one that is worthwhile and pleasurable here and in the akhirah. Leave us your feedback below.
